Hosea 14

Israel’s Future Blessing

1 ^{▼▼ Ch 14:2 in Heb
,} ^bReturn, O Israel, to the Lord your God,
For you have stumbled ^{▼▼ Or in}because of your ^diniquity.
2 Take words with you and return to the Lord.
Say to Him, ^e“Take away all iniquity
And ^{▼▼ Or accept that which is good}receive us graciously,
That we may ^gpresent ^{▼▼ So with ancient versions; M.T. our lips as bulls}the fruit of our lips.
3 “Assyria will not save us,
We will ⁱnot ride on horses;
Nor will we say again, ‘ ^jOur god,’
To the ^kwork of our hands;
For in ^lYou the ^{▼▼ Or fatherless}orphan finds mercy.”

4 I will ⁿheal their apostasy,
I will ^olove them freely,
For My anger has ^pturned away from them.
5 I will be like the ^qdew to Israel;
He will blossom like the ^rlily,
And he will ^{▼▼ Lit strike his roots}take root like the cedars of ^tLebanon.
6 His shoots will ^{▼▼ Lit go}sprout,
And his ^{▼▼ Or splendor}beauty will be like the ^wolive tree
And his fragrance like the cedars of ^xLebanon.
7 Those who ^ylive in his shadow
Will ^{▼▼ Or return, they will raise grain}again raise ^aagrain,
And they will blossom like the vine.
His renown will be like the wine of Lebanon.

8 O Ephraim, what more have I to do with ^abidols?
It is I who answer and look after ^{▼▼ Lit him}you.
I am like a luxuriant ^adcypress;
From ^aeMe comes your fruit.

9 ^afWhoever is wise, let him understand these things;
Whoever is discerning, let him know them.
For the ^agways of the Lord are right,
And the ^ahrighteous will walk in them,
But ^aitransgressors will stumble in them.
